OnePlus’ Nord line goes in an entirely different direction than the way most devices receive Android updates. Several weeks ago, the Nord got its Android 12 update; its successor, the Nord 2, started receiving it now, after going through several Open Beta releases.
There is no surprise that it took a few weeks for the stable release to appear after the first one was released a month ago. Over a year after Google initially announced it, it’s now available as a 4.89GB download.
There has been a staged rollout in India, so only a few devices will eventually receive the update notification over the next few days. It will begin wide distribution after that, assuming there aren’t any major bugs. You also receive the May 2022 security patches for the Indian Nord 2 units. The new build number for these units is DN2101_11.C.04.
You can download the Full OTA zip from the following link if you’ve waited long enough and you are familiar with sideloading an OTA package. If not, waiting is the best option. It’s interesting, and maybe also worrying, that the second Open Beta looks exactly like this one. It’s unclear whether this is a mistake, as OnePlus has not yet posted about the stable update in its forums – Nord 2 owners are the first to report that it has been received.
