Apple’s iPhone has scored highest in its ‘friend and family’ scenario, with accurate skin tones, fast shutter technology, the ability to reduce motion blur and good contrast rendition. The iPhone 14 Pro also scores highly in its portrait mode, which more closely resembles that of a DSLR. The Pro models also provide a realistic bokeh effect that is achieved through portrait mode.
The iPhone seems to be a top video recorder with the 14 Pro. There is less lag in transitions, as well as a smoother and more stable video. Autofocus and HDR are also improved by the recent update.
The new Quad-Bayer image sensor in the iPhone features better quality and performance with more accurate preview images. The Quad-Bayer image sensor in the iPhone produces vibrant, reminiscent of the human eye’s natural lens. The iPhone also yields intelligent color grading algorithms which result in accurate preview images that are saved to capture detail and depth.
The only issues with the camera are that, when taking indoor photos, there’s some noise and loss of detail. Additionally, when taking 3X photos, there is some loss of detail on the phone.
Comparing the iPhone 14 Pro to other selfie cameras, its score is 1 point higher than the Huawei P50 Pro. Its autofocus ability and faster aperture increase its rating. The video quality for selfies was great, with a high rating for exposure, color, and stabilization.
The camera on the front facing side of the phone is capable of taking great pictures with excellent details, accurate skin tones and blurred backgrounds.
iPhone 14 Pro’s selfie camera has two flaws that are rather noticeable to most consumers, noise in photos and videos and skin tones that are altered or less accurate because of challenging lighting conditions.
