This publication offers the exact types of displays that will be used in the iPhone 14 Duo. They are not ProMotion displays.
The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max will use the same components as Samsung’s Galaxy phones. The M-series of material sets is reserved for Apple’s iPhones and Samsung’s premium Galaxy phones.
The iPhone 14 Pro has a 6.1-inch screen, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch screen; both feature the LTPO backplane and will use the newly developed M12 material set for better performance.
Galaxy Z Flip4 and Z Fold4 will be the first to use this material, now that the Galaxy S22+ and S22 Ultra have already used it. The M11 set has been modified for them, while the Galaxy S22 still used the older M10 sets.
All four new iPhone models will have a Samsung display panel. They have reportedly received an order for 80 million panels.
LG is manufacturing panels for the vanilla iPhone 14 and for the flagship iPhone 14 Pro Max. These will in turn be made with the RS-L material set. Last year LG was manufacturing panels for the previous RS-K set, which are for the previous iPhone 13.
The Elec’s report didn’t mention BOE even though they were able to secure a small order of panels.
