There is finally hope for Galaxy phone owners who are disappointed that Samsung has yet to implement “Seamless Updates” and have hot to wait several hours or days before even seeing their device restart and update. The feature debuted on Pixels in 2016, but it’s found in many Android phones today. It allows an update to be sent and installed while you use your phone in partition B, then when the update is complete, just restart.
Samsung announced that Seamless Updates will lace some of the OneUI 6 updates next year in an interview with Samsung Electronics VP Hyesoon Jeong.
It would be reasonable to expect that Samsung phones launching later next year will include Seamless Updates, considering Google is mandating that feature for all phones running Android 13. We’ll see what happens though.
Sally explained that OneUI won’t branch out from phones to Chromebooks or TVs as it focuses on providing a keen smartphone experience.
