The latest version of the Nothing OS is a minor update that improves the phone. The new option for the always-on display will now be turned off by default at night. The user can change this if they want it to be on all the time but it no longer starts out that way.
This new update will enable the fingerprint icon to appear when you move your phone slightly, but it does not work on our review unit. The fingerprint sensor seems a little faster after.
The update claims to improve charging performance, but there is no evidence of the charging speed being improved. The update also claims to address compatibility with 3rd party chargers, but we are not sure what this means precisely as the phone worked well with all chargers we tried.
The newest update claims to have resolved the Bluetooth codec issue. Unfortunately, we did not experience this issue so we are unable to confirm whether or not the new update has improved it at all.
The latest updates have streamlined minor user interface details, making them more efficient and improving stability. The audio quality issues are still present and face unlock is unreliable. Updates make the phone stable, but there are other issues that have not been resolved.
