Samsung has made available the stable updates for the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 for the unlocked versions of the Galaxy S20 FE 5G and Galaxy A51 in the United States. This new update brings in the latest features and improvements for these devices.
The One UI 5.0 update has been rolled out for the Galaxy S20 FE 5G and Galaxy A51, each with its own firmware version. The Galaxy S20 FE 5G will receive the update with firmware version G781U1UEU9FWA7, and the Galaxy A51 will have firmware version A515U1UEU8EWA6 for the One UI 5.0 update.
With the new One UI 5.0 updates, both the Galaxy S20 FE 5G and Galaxy A51 will have access to the standard set of features and improvements that come with the update. However, the Galaxy S20 FE 5G will also receive an additional security boost with the January 2023 Android security patch, while the Galaxy A51’s update includes the December 2022 Android security patch.
It’s important to note that the Galaxy A51, launched in 2019 with Android 10, will no longer be eligible for further Android version upgrades after receiving the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update. As per Samsung’s policy, the device is only eligible for three Android OS upgrades since its release. This means that Galaxy A51 users will not be able to upgrade to future Android versions.
If you are a user of an unlocked Galaxy S20 FE 5G or Galaxy A51 in the US and haven’t received the One UI 5.0 update yet, you can manually check for the update by navigating to the settings menu. Specifically, you can go to the “Software update” option under settings and check for the update availability. This will help you stay updated with your device’s latest features and security patches.
