Earlier this month, Xiaomi released the Redmi A1 in India. Today, it announced the Plus model to make its range of smartphones even more affordable. It comes in two different configurations: the 2GB/32GB configuration for $91, and the 3GB/32GB configuration for $103.
For a limited time during Diwali, both versions will be on sale for $6. You can buy right now on Xiaomi’s official Indian website, Flipkart, Mi.com, and offline retailers around the country.
The Redmi A1+ isn’t a completely new smartphone, but it’s the upgraded version of Redmi A1, with a fingerprint scanner and 3GB RAM. It also comes in India, with a discount, and is available for $76 through Xiaomi’s Indian website and Amazon.in
The new and improved A1 Plus is powered by the Helio A22 SoC, runs MIUI 12 based on Android 12, and has a 6.52″ HD+ display. It’s got three vertically aligned camera units at the rear to capture every detail – a 5MP selfie camera, an 8MP primary camera, and a low-res QVGA unit.
The A1 Plus includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, a dedicated SD card slot for up to 512GB of storage expansion, and a 5,000mAh battery capable of charging at up to 10W via the micro USB port.
