The Samsung M110S Galaxy S was announced in June 2010. However, the status of the Samsung M110S Galaxy S is currently listed as discontinued.

  • Design and Display
  • Processor
  • Camera
  • Memory
  • Sound and Features
  • Battery

Design and Display

The Samsung M110S Galaxy S has a sleek and slim design with dimensions of 122.4 x 64.2 x 9.9 mm. This makes it relatively compact and easy to handle, allowing users to carry it in their pockets or bags without adding too much bulk. The phone weighs 121g, which is considered lightweight compared to many smartphones on the market, making it comfortable to hold and use for extended periods.

The phone uses a Mini-SIM card, which was a common SIM card size at the time of its release. It features a Super AMOLED display, which is a type of display technology that provides high-quality, vivid images. The 4.0-inch display size is suitable for single-handed use and offers a good balance between screen real estate and ease of use. The display has a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, which is considered decent for a phone released in 2010.

Processor

The Samsung M110S Galaxy S runs on the Android 2.1 operating system (also known as Eclair) out of the box. This means that it uses the Android interface and has access to the Google Play Store and other Android applications. The phone is also upgradable to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), which offers several improvements and new features over the previous version.

The phone uses a Hummingbird chipset, which was designed by Samsung specifically for smartphones. The chipset includes a 1.0 GHz Cortex-A8 CPU, which is a single-core processor that was considered fast and powerful for its time. The Cortex-A8 is capable of running most basic smartphone functions and applications without any issues.

The Samsung M110S Galaxy S also features a PowerVR SGX540 GPU, which is a graphics processing unit that helps the phone render high-quality graphics and videos. The PowerVR SGX540 is considered a mid-range GPU, but it was still capable of running most games and videos smoothly on the phone.

Camera

The Samsung M110S Galaxy S features a 5-megapixel autofocus main camera that allows you to take high-quality photos with ease. The autofocus feature helps ensure that your subject is in focus, making for clearer and more vibrant images. The camera is capable of recording videos in 720p resolution, which is a high-definition format that offers crisp and clear video footage.

The phone features a VGA front-facing camera, which can be used for taking selfies or making video calls. VGA stands for Video Graphics Array, which is a standard resolution for video cameras and displays. While the VGA resolution is not as high as the main camera’s 5MP, it is still adequate for basic video calls and selfie photos.

Memory

The Samsung M110S Galaxy S features two types of memory: internal memory and external memory.

The internal memory of the phone is 16GB, of which 14GB is available for the user to store apps, photos, videos, and other files. This internal memory is not expandable, which means you cannot add more storage to the phone once it is full.

However, the phone also has a dedicated microSDHC card slot that can accommodate a memory card of up to 32GB. This external memory is not included with the phone and must be purchased separately. Once you insert a memory card into the slot, you can store additional files such as music, videos, and photos on it.

It is important to note that not all apps can be moved to external memory. Some apps require installation on the internal memory and cannot be moved to the microSD card. The speed and performance of the external memory can vary depending on the quality of the memory card.

Sound and Features

The Samsung M110S Galaxy S is a smartphone that comes equipped with a variety of features that allow for a great user experience.

It has a loudspeaker and a 3.5mm jack that lets you listen to music and take calls without the need for additional accessories. The phone also has Wi-Fi 802.11 connectivity and Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, which enables you to connect to wireless networks and devices.

For location-based services, the phone features GPS and A-GPS, which help you navigate and track your location. It also has a stereo FM radio with RDS and DMB TV for entertainment on the go.

The phone has a micro USB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer, and it also has a variety of sensors, including an accelerometer, proximity sensor, and compass.

The Samsung M110S Galaxy S can play MP4, DivX, WMV, and H.264 video files, as well as MP3, WAV, eAAC+, and FLAC audio files. It also has a photo/video editor and a document editor, making it a versatile tool for both entertainment and productivity.

Battery

The Samsung M110S Galaxy S is powered by a removable Li-Po 1500 mAh battery. This battery can be removed and replaced, which allows you to carry a spare battery for extended use.

The phone has a standby time of up to 590 hours on 2G and up to 490 hours on 3G networks. Standby time refers to the amount of time the phone can stay powered on and connected to the network without being used.

The talk time of the phone is up to 15 hours and 30 minutes on 2G and up to 7 hours and 50 minutes on 3G. Talk time refers to the amount of time you can use the phone to make calls on a single charge.

The Samsung M110S Galaxy S comes in two colors: Snow White and Black. The phone was released in 2010 and had a price of around 220 EUR at that time.
