Design and Display

The Philips PH2 is a mobile phone with dimensions of 156.2 x 75.3 x 9 mm and a weight of 170 grammes. The phone has a glass front and back with a plastic frame, making it sturdy and scratch and break resistant. The phone supports dual SIM, which means it can use two SIM cards simultaneously.

The phone’s display is a 6.21-inch IPS LCD with a 720 x 1520 pixels resolution. The IPS LCD technology improves viewing angles, colour accuracy, and sunlight readability. When viewing films, browsing images, or playing games on the phone, the 720 x 1520 pixel resolution offers crisp and sharp graphics. The Philips PH2 is a mid-range smartphone with a good mix of features and reasonably priced specifications.

Performance

The Philips PH2 is an Android smartphone that utilises Huawei Mobile Services rather than Google Mobile Services (GMS) (HMS). This implies that the phone cannot access Google’s applications and services, but it does include Huawei’s alternative apps and services.

The phone is powered by the Unisoc Tiger T310 chipset, manufactured on a 12nm technology. A quad-core CPU with one 2.0 GHz Cortex-A75 core and three 1.8 GHz Cortex-A55 cores powers the chipset. This core combination achieves good performance and power efficiency, making it suited for mid-range smartphones.

The phone also has a PowerVR GE8300 graphics processing unit (GPU) that renders graphics and pictures on the phone’s display. The PowerVR GE8300 is a low-cost GPU that can handle basic mobile gaming and video playback.

The Unisoc Tiger T310 chipset and the PowerVR GE8300 GPU should perform well for online surfing, social media, and video streaming applications. It may, however, struggle with more demanding activities like intensive multitasking and high-end gaming.

Camera

The Philips PH2 has a dual camera system with a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel secondary camera. The primary camera sports a wide-angle lens with autofocus to produce crisp, clear photographs. The secondary camera is a depth sensor that can take pictures with a shallow depth of focus.

The camera system also includes an LED flash, which helps to improve low-light photography by adding light to the scene. The camera can capture video in 1080p definition at 30 frames per second (fps). This implies that the video quality should be satisfactory and fluid.

A 5-megapixel selfie camera on the front of the phone may be used to capture selfies or make video calls. The selfie camera is adequate for basic photographic requirements but may not deliver the greatest results for those seeking high-quality selfies.

Memory

The Philips PH2 has 128GB of internal storage, which should be plenty for most users to save their files, documents, photographs, movies, and other materials. The internal storage may be utilised to store programmes, system data, and multimedia items like music, movies, and images.

The phone also accepts microSDXC cards, which may be used to enhance the phone’s storage capacity. This implies that users may expand the phone’s storage capacity beyond the built-in 128GB by inserting a microSDXC card. The phone also has 4GB of Memory, which is adequate for daily duties like web browsing, social networking, and basic gaming. The RAM ensures the phone can run many apps simultaneously without slowing down or crashing.

Sound and Features

The Philips PH2 includes a loudspeaker and a 3.5mm headphone port, allowing users to listen to music, watch movies, and make phone calls using external speakers or headphones. Wi-Fi 802.11 and hotspot capability are also included, allowing users to connect to wireless networks and share their internet connection with other devices. Bluetooth 4.2 is also supported on the phone, allowing users to connect wirelessly to Bluetooth-enabled devices like speakers, headphones, or other smartphones.

Users may navigate and identify their location on a map using the phone’s GPS and BDS positioning technologies. The positioning technology on the phone may also be utilised for location-based services such as ride-hailing applications, map services, and weather updates.

The Philips PH2 also has an unknown radio and a USB Type-C 2.0 connection for charging and data transfer between the phone and other devices. The phone also includes sensors such as a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for secure and quick device unlocking, an accelerometer for measuring motion and orientation, and a proximity sensor that detects when the phone is near the user’s face during a call and turns off the screen to save battery life.

Battery

The Philips PH2 is powered by a non-removable Li-Ion 3900 mAh battery, which should be adequate to get the phone through a full day of normal use. Nevertheless, real battery life may vary based on device usage and settings. The phone comes in three colour options: black, blue, and gold. Users can select their favourite hue based on their preferences or style.

The phone costs roughly 110 EUR, giving it an affordable alternative for customers searching for a phone with good features and performance without breaking the bank. The phone’s pricing and characteristics make it suitable for individuals searching for a low-cost smartphone with acceptable performance and capabilities.
