Although Samsung D428 was a reliable phone, it is now considered one of the oldest models as it was first announced in 2004 and has since been discontinued. Samsung has always been known for producing high-quality phones; the D428 is no exception. In this review, we will delve into the details of this phone and explore its unique features.

Design and Display

The Samsung D428 is a mobile phone with a compact size. Its dimensions are 99 x 50 x 24 mm, weighing 127 grams. The phone uses a Mini-SIM card, a standard SIM card size, before introducing micro and nano.

The Samsung D428 features a TFT resistive touchscreen with a size of 2.2 inches. The screen has a resolution of 176 x 220 pixels, considered standard for mobile phones during its release in 2004. The resistive touchscreen technology allows users to interact with the phone by applying pressure on the screen with a stylus or their fingers.

Camera

The Samsung D428 features a VGA camera with an LED flash, allowing users to capture basic photos in low-light conditions. The phone does not have a front-facing selfie camera, a common feature in modern smartphones.

Memory

The Samsung D428 has no card slot for external storage, so users cannot expand the phone’s storage capacity beyond the internal memory. The phonebook has a capacity of 1000 entries, allowing users to store a large number of contacts. The call record feature keeps a log of the 20 most recent dialed, received, and missed calls, which can help keep track of important calls.

Sound and Features

The Samsung D428 does not have a loudspeaker but supports vibration and downloadable polyphonic ringtones for alerting users of incoming calls and messages. The phone does not have a 3.5mm jack for headphones, so users must rely on the built-in earpiece for phone calls. The phone also features an infrared port for wireless data transfer. The Samsung D428 supports SMS, EMS, and MMS, which allows users to send and receive text, multimedia, and picture messages. The phone’s browser uses WAP 1.2, a standard protocol for browsing the internet on mobile devices.
The Samsung D428 comes preloaded with games, and users can download other games. The phone also supports Java applications, which allow users to run small programs and games on the device. The phone also features basic organizer tools such as a stopwatch and voice memo.

Battery

The Samsung D428 is powered by a removable Li-Ion 820 mAh battery, which provides the phone with limited power. The phone has a standby time of up to 140 hours, which means it can stay on without use for up to 140 hours on a single charge. The talk time of the phone is up to 3 hours, which means users can talk on the phone for up to 3 hours on a single charge. The Samsung D428 is available in a silver color, which gives the phone a sleek and professional look.
