The Dialer team lead, Eccles, has revealed that Google is actively exploring a more effective approach to preventing unwanted phone calls, such as spam and robocalls, from disturbing users.
According to Eccles, his team’s objective is to enhance the overall calling experience, taking it to new heights and surpassing users’ expectations while simultaneously safeguarding them from spam calls and improving their productivity. The team aspires to revolutionize the fundamentals of calling to ensure an exceptional user experience. Eccles stated that Google is exploring the implementation of AI technology to improve the productivity of business calls, enhance the enjoyment of personal calls, and eliminate the issue of spam calls, rendering them no longer problematic.
Referring to the elimination of spam calls, Eccles explained that Google’s strategy goes beyond just utilizing Machine Learning to block calls from specific numbers. The company intends to introduce an additional layer of protection to separate Pixel users from unwanted phone calls.
Alongside its anti-spam efforts, Jonathan discussed Google’s Clear Calling feature, designed to eliminate specific background noises and make conversations easier to hear.
